New Honda Infotainment System On The Horizon

Is it just us or does it seem like automakers are coming out with new infotainment systems at an almost dizzying pace? Of course, in-vehicle connectivity is important. We know that. But sometimes the speed at which these technologies "evolve" lead us to wonder just how much thought is actually put into them.

Fortunately for enthusiasts in the Okemos area and beyond, Honda isn't like any other automaker. In fact, company officials have been rather quiet on the subject of infotainment for the past year or so. While this silence might have caused some fans to worry,  We had a feeling that something truly innovative was going on behind the Honda curtains.

Not to boast, but we were spot on...

Just recently our favorite automaker announced that it is about to reveal details for its new HondaLink infotainment system. Set to come out initially for the Honda Fit Ev, the revolutionary bit of technology will move on to be available for the 2013 Honda Accord as well.

Unlike other systems, HondaLink will not offer connected services via satellite data. It will offer up something even better. At this point in time, that "something better" looks to come in the shape of a mobile connectivity system or even a built-in modem. What we can tell you for sure is that HondaLink will work in tandem with premium connectivity partner, Aha Radio. This will allow drivers and passengers to access prime web content such as music, talk shows, information, etc.

Honda officials promise that a full unveiling of the new system is set to come soon so be sure to stay tuned. As always, Capital Honda at 2651 Jolly Road is dedicated to providing you with all the latest news and details surrounding new Honda models and technology as they come.
