Seven Passenger MPV To Be Developed

If you're a fan of the 2012 Honda Fit, then you'll be happy to know that the Japanese automaker is working on an all-new variant of the subcompact hatchback to be released in India. Known currently by its code name, the Honda "2NH," the vehicle features the same hatchback design and powertrain as the Honda Fit. However, it adds an extra row of seats into the equation in order to fit more passengers.

In total, the Honda "2NH" can seat up to seven full-sized adults comfortably in a vehicle that's no larger than most compact models. The Honda "2NH" falls into the multi-purpose vehicle segment. An emerging class, it's sweeping developing automotive markets, where utility and maneuverability trump nearly all other traits. In fact, Honda is one of the last automakers to develop such an offering for the Indian automotive marketplace.

But for what it's worth, we here at Capital Honda, serving the greater Okemos area, can't think of a better platform for Honda to use than that of the Honda Fit. It is, after all, developed with the company's Man Maximum-Machine Minimum design philosophy, which, as its name implies, focuses on the importance of transporting more people and/or cargo while creating a vehicle that's minimalist in terms of size and fuel consumption. The Honda "2NH" is simply the next logical step in this strategy.

Have we managed to pique your interest? Unfortunately, there's currently no word on whether or not the Honda "2NH" will make it to the United States. However, that doesn't mean an optional third row wouldn't be offered for the Fit in the near future. In other words, make sure to check back often. Capital Honda, located at 2651 Jolly Road, is here to keep you up to date on all things Honda.
