2011 Honda Civic Named Top Safety Pick

Cars awarded the designation of TOP SAFETY PICK from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) wear a badge of honor 2011 Honda Civic four-door models (excluding the SI) now wear that badge within the small car category. 

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is renowned within the car industry as being sticklers for safety. Last year, they upped the criteria for TOP SAFETY PICKs by adding a roof-strength evaluation to test the protection of a rollover crash. In order to earn such a TOP SAFETY PICK award, the 2011 Honda Civic Sedans had to pass not only the roof crash tests, but also:
  • Frontal crash tests
  • Side crash tests
  • Rear crash test
  • Seat/head restrain tests
