Honda Customer-Focused Engineering in New 2013 Accord Commercials

At Capital Honda we truly believe that 2013 Honda Accord needs no explanation and definitely sells itself. Though, even though we feel this way, we know there are some drivers in the greater Okemos area who are not quite familiar with it yet. Because of this, Honda chose to launch a new multimedia marketing campaign alongside the redesigned, mid-size sedan.

What is this campaign called? Well the, "It Starts With You" campaign, which focuses in on how Honda drivers have helped shape the Accord into what it is today. What is exciting is that we're talking about how the real experiences of Honda drivers have led to some serious automotive innovations.

"We didn't want to show a commercial-perfect representation of life. Our characters have flaws," explains Jason Sperling, Senior Vice President and Group Creative Director at Honda marketing partner, RPA. "They get mad and pound the steering wheel. Sometimes they are happy, sometimes exhausted, sometimes frustrated or impatient. Sometimes they take their eyes off the road for a split second. Sometimes they just want a moment of peace."1

In more than a few words, the characters in the advertisements show how feedback from Honda drivers has resulted in some of the new features that you'll see in the 2013 Honda Accord, such as LaneWatch, Forward Collision Warning, and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink.

New ads began airing at the Emmys and is expected to keep airing throughout the fall TV season during shows like "Fringe," "Mike and Molly," and "Modern Family."
